Last weekend we went to a small amusement park called Fun ‘N Stuff. It was…fun!…and stuff! Below is a video and a couple pics.

Silas has been doing lots of somersault lately. He calls them “flips.” Brianna has done a somersault as well, but I haven’t got one on video yet.
Here is a video of Silas and Brianna doing somersaults, as well as flips, flops, and falls.
Yesterday we took the kids to see an Akron Aeros vs Erie SeaWolves baseball game. The reason we originally planned this was so Silas could see fireworks, because we missed them on July 4th weekend. We were cheering for the Akron Aeros, and they won 8-1.

Brian and Silas enjoying the game. Silas is too cool to smile. He peed for the first time in a urinal at this game!

Brianna and I having a blast!

We decided to bike through a trail in a place called Deep Lock Quarry in Peninsula, Ohio today. We went there, but didn’t end up going to the quarry, but to the paths that joined up to it, which were a lot longer. The signs also said that bikers can only ride on paved pathways, and the quarry path was dirt. So, maybe we’ll go walking there some time!
I need to tighten my helmet…it’s kind of lopsided…
The bike ride was really fun, and had beautiful scenery. The only problem is that at the end we had to bike up a pretty steep hill, and we did it without stopping, so we were both really tired at the end! Also, today, for the very first time in his life, Silas peed in the woods! He was quite proud of himself!
Here’s a video of us before, during and after our exhausting bike ride today! Some of the clips are lower quality, because when I would video while riding, I would accidentally switch into compact mode, and I didn’t always realize it. Anyway, here it is!
P.S. Not sure why Silas had his DS with him, but that was silly.
I haven’t been on an actual biking trip since the year 2005, due to the fact that I’ve been pregnant twice since then, and we never got baby carriers for our bikes. Well, our good friends, Angel & Joi Sanchez, recently gave us a bike trailer that their kids have outgrown! (thank you, guys!) So, we decided to take a spin down one of the paths near our house.
To help make sure the kids didn’t bug each other, I gave them each a drink to have while riding. I gave Silas juice and Brianna milk. Bad idea. Brianna wanted the juice. This caused several squabbles and screeches to come forth from within the little red trailer, but don’t worry, it didn’t last long. By the time we got back, Brianna was fast asleep. It was so cute. They both look adorable sitting in there, looking out the windows.
Silas loving his new ride!
P.S. There’s a flap that goes over the front of the trailer, but we don’t have it snapped down in these pictures. It has the option of being either mesh, or you can put down the clear plastic part for in case it rains.
Yesterday we bought Silas his first bicycle and helmet! So, this morning I took the kids out to the metroparks paths so Silas could practice riding his new bike for the first time. I’m impressed with how fast he picked it up. He had a blast, and didn’t want to turn around to go back to the car!
The only negative things that happened were that Silas fell two times, almost fell over another time but I caught him, almost rode into the ditch once, and he would cry in frustration whenever he couldn’t get the pedals to move. He’s still learning how to pedal well, and he needs to learn to kind of stand up to pedal when he’s on an incline.
I also need to adjust his helmet a bit, because it would tilt back and sideways sometimes.
Here he comes!
Go speedracer, go!
Brianna enjoying the lovely weather, while Silas gets very frustrated at the pedals!
I look forward to many more fun biking adventures!
We are back from our trip to Canada as of January 1st! I just copied my pics and video from our trip onto my hard drive, so I will be making a video comprised of clips and highlights of the trip. But for now, here’s a couple pics of us skating at Millennium Place in Edmonton.
Brian, Silas and I skating. Brianna slept the whole time.
Dad teaching Silas to skate. Instead of skates, Silas wore blades that attached to his boots, and instead of 1 blade on each foot, there’s 2 on each foot, so it’s easier to balance for kids that are learning.
Brianna, swordsgirl in training! This is what happens when you have an older brother, and you’re his only sibling.
Silas introduced Brianna to her first sport – extreme swinging! She likes it a lot, and Silas enjoys watching her laugh. Don’t worry though, I didn’t let her swing too long!
