Last weekend we went to a small amusement park called Fun ‘N Stuff. It was…fun!…and stuff! Below is a video and a couple pics.

Silas riding a go-kart for the first time! He did great!

flea market frenzy

Yesterday a few ladies from the church went to the Hartville Flea Market in Hartville, Ohio! I had been wanting to check it out anyway, because I had heard of it before. After that, we ate at a very nice restaurant, which I cannot remember the name of.

Brianna and I at the Hartville Flea Market.

Us at the restaurant.

The flea market entrance. It was huge.

Brianna playing with the free kittens at the flea market. They were black with blue eyes…so cute!

Yay for cute little kittens! (We didn’t take any.)

The line at the restaurant.

By fluke, four of us ladies ended up wearing practically the same color tops!

We had a nice time! Personally, I would go to this flea market for it’s good, inexpensive produce. If I wanted better merchandise, and other interesting surrounding stores, I would go to Amish Country, where we normally go for the ladies’ get together.

We had a blast! Looking forward to the next “Sister’s Outing!”

(Thanks to Rachel Sanchez for some of these pics.)

awesome aeros

Yesterday we took the kids to see an Akron Aeros vs Erie SeaWolves baseball game. The reason we originally planned this was so Silas could see fireworks, because we missed them on July 4th weekend. We were cheering for the Akron Aeros, and they won 8-1.

Brian and Silas enjoying the game. Silas is too cool to smile. He peed for the first time in a urinal at this game!

pro football hall of fame

On Saturday we went to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, with Brian’s parents and Sam & Kim and their kids. It was very interesting! Here are a few pics:

Brian’s Dad and his three eldest grandsons.

Brianna and Brian checking out some of the vintage football stuff.

Paul and Silas listening to one of the telephone stations in the retro area, where you can listen to football stuff.

There were other cool exhibits, as well as a really neat theater-type one, where you could get an idea what it’s like to be a football player in the Super Bowl.

Later we went to see President McKinley’s memorial. He’s one of the presidents that was assassinated. Here’s Silas with the memorial grounds behind him. I didn’t get a pic of the actual building though.

After that, we went out to eat, then back to Brian’s parents where the kids played outside with waterguns, then we went for icecream, and then to a playground where we all played on the playground and swung on the swings.

Then we went home. At this point, Silas was extraordinarily tired and hyper.

Here’s a video of Silas, playing with one of Brianna’s dolls, on the way home. He was doing this a lot more, before he saw me videoing :)

terrific times

Here are a few more pics from last week, when my parents and sister Stephanie and her kids, stayed at my house:

Elliott and Silas in the bike trailer. I pulled them around a little bit, as well as Heidi and Esther. They thought it was really fun. Esther said she’d want to go for an hour long ride in it.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad

We took the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad for a 2 hour trip. It was a fun experience, and the girls really wanted to go on because it reminds them of Little House on the Prairie. They even wore the bonnets they got from Hale Farm & Village.

Enjoying the ride!

Our train car was practically empty, so we could pick and choose seats, so when we ate lunch, we all moved to seats with tables. Here’s Mom and Dad eating lunch. The food was excellent, by the way.

Silas watching a train passing the other way.

Crying Party

On the last day of our family get togethers, we usually have a “crying party”. This time we even had a special cake for it!

Esther and Heidi getting ready for the party.

Looking forward to our next trip!

My parents and sister, Stephanie, and her kids, are currently staying with us! We are having lots of fun together! Here are a few pics of places we have been so far:

The kids at the Harry London Chocolate Factory on Tuesday. We went for an awesome tour, where we were able to see the chocolates being made. Unfortunately, photography is prohibited during the tour.

At the Akron Zoo, Thursday morning. Fun was had by all!

Heidi and Esther at the Hale Farm & Village today. Here they are in an old house.

Esther and Brianna, wearing some bonnets that were purchased at Hale Farm & Village. Look! It’s Ma Ingalls and baby Grace!

Here’s a little video of us at the Akron Zoo last week. My favorite parts are the kids feeding the goats and sheep, and Silas’ reaction to some double doors about to close on him.

pittsburgh mini-vacation

On Monday we drove to Pittsburgh, stayed overnight, and drove back Tuesday evening. We did it because Brian had to use up a few vacation days before the end of the month.

We took a few pictures, but mostly video. Here are a few of our pics, and I will get a video together as soon as I can.

The first place we went was the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. It is about a 100 times better than the Children’s Museum of Cleveland. There’s actually no comparison. There’s three floors, the exhibits are so cool and interesting, and the kids had a ball!

This is the cafeteria. We ate lunch here before we went through the museum.

Silas on the big climby thing.

Brianna in a “smart car”.

Silas looking through some kind of telescope.

This was a fun slide, but before you go down the slide, you have to go through a room that is tilted at a 25 degree angle. It gives you the weirdest feeling in your head, because your brain is trying to adjust to it. I almost felt like fainting or something. I never thought it would affect me, but it did. But, as your brain adjusts, it doesn’t bother you anymore. Silas only went down the slide once, because he didn’t want to go through that tilted room because of the weird feeling, plus he fell when he was in it. I went down the slide twice with Brianna and once by myself.

Brianna playing with the giant Lite Brite.

Silas playing in the water area. I think the raincoat I picked for him was a little too big, cuz it was down to the floor, and he looked like a mad scientist running around.

Brianna loved playing with that dolphin water toy! She stood there and played with it the whole time we were at the water area, and when we had to leave, she started crying.

Brianna snoozing in the hotel room. She was pooped out from all the fun at the museum!

Silas ready to walk down to the pool.

Bree ready for the pool! (there’s the frown again)

The swimming pool.

The next day we went to the Carnegie Science Center. Here’s Brian with the kids, with the Pittsburgh skyline in the background.

Silas in the sports area of the science center, doing the trampoline/bungee jump thing!

That’s it for now! We had a blast! We love Pittsburgh, and hope to go back again soon.

zoological zaniness

Today we took the kids to the Akron Zoo!

It was a fun trip. It went by really fast, but I think that’s partly because today is still part of the “winter” season at the zoo, so there wasn’t as much going on.

My favorite part was in the farm area, where we got to feed these cracker-type things to goats and sheeps. The kids both loved it. I didn’t get any pics of that, but I got video. I’ll try to get the video up soon.

video: children’s museum

I started editing this video a while ago, and then I kind of forgot about it, and Brian reminded me about it, so I finished it up, and here it is: our trip to the Children’s Museum of Cleveland!
