The 44th president of the United States of America will be Barack Obama. Not sure how I feel about that. I know what the media tells me I’m supposed to feel; Elation. Relief. Awe. 52% of the popular vote isn’t a landslide, not by a long shot, but the people have spoken. In his victory speech, the man said this:
“To those Americans whose support I have yet to earn — I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your president too,” –Barack Obama
He is right about one thing; he will be my president. I doubt he hears my voice, or needs my help, however. And I don’t see any magical healing between conservatives and liberals in the near future, either. Nor should there be. What I do see is a Democrat-controlled White House, Senate, and House of Representatives pushing any legislation through they see fit for at least two years. That is what I am the most concerned about. No opposition to the liberal agenda. No sense crying over spilled milk now. Time to pray for the best and maintain my skeptic’s eye until proven otherwise.
I’m not a Republican. I’m a Christian. My home is America, my kingdom is not of this world. But I do want Silas and my daughter to live in a great country for as long as God permits. I vote conservative, because it’s the closest thing available to what I believe. Hopefully next time around one party or another can put up a candidate that I, and people like me, can really get behind.
Thank God it’s all over. Maybe now the news I read will actually be news and not constant recaps of Sarah Palin’s geography skills.

[...] I must admit, it is hard to ignore all of the conservative alarms that are ringing in my head and stay true to what I said when he was elected. But I will put them aside until he has a chance to prove himself. Which is [...]
