  1. brian = 31 years old

Today was Brian’s 31st birthday!!! We just had a little party for him here at home. Here are some pics:

Brian and the kids before he opened his presents.

    Me and the kids celebrating.

Brian with his cake. It was yellow cake with cream cheese frosting, his favorite. I didn’t have 31 candles, so I took the candles I had, and placed them in the shape of the number 31. After Brian blew his candles out, we had to re-light them for Silas to blow out. 🙂

Brian wearing some of the exercise clothing we got him. I gave him the pants, Silas gave him the hand wraps, and Brianna gave him the sweat band.

I just had to post this pic, cuz I think Brianna is so adorable holding that party blower!

We had a fun party together!

This weekend we were at a birthday party for Paul, our nephew! It was a lot of fun!

Ben, Paul and Silas, waiting to light the candles and eat some cake!

Brianna and I at the party! This is the first day Brianna ever wore a hair bow. It’s hard to see, because it’s white, but it’s on the top of her head. She had a fun time at the party too!

Today Brianna is exactly 6 months old! I can’t believe how fast the time has flown!

    Brianna today after eating supper.

Brianna is so much fun, and is getting more and more fun all the time! She smiles and laughs, and is very curious.

Happy 1/2 Birthday, Brianna! I love you so much!

Last week I was in Ontario with Silas and Brianna, visiting with my parents, my sister Stephanie and her husband Terrill and their kids Esther, Heidi and Elliott, as well as my sister-in-law Natasha from British Columbia and her daughter Charlotte.  We had such a fun time together!

All the grandkids together: Elliott, Silas, Heidi, Charlotte, Esther and Brianna!

Below is a video of Terrill playing with Elliott and Silas:

We celebrated my Dad’s birthday when we were there. Here he is, with his birthday cake!

  5. silas = 2 years old

Today Silas turned 2 years old! Yay for Silas! He’s such a big boy, and so smart, cute, loving, sweet, and has a great personality and sense of humor. He’s growing up so fast!

We had a little celebration at our house for him today, but we’re gonna have an actual party later this month.

Silas playing with a puzzle we got him.

Silas trying to blow out his “2” candle. We made a yellow cake with creamcheese frosting.

Silas wanted his new Little People dump truck driver to taste the cake too!

  6. brian = 3 decades old!

Today is Brian’s actual 30th birthday!

To celebrate, we ate supper at Chili’s. We used a gift card that Brian had gotten as a birthday present at his party last week!

Brian with his blackened chicken alfredo and strawberry lemonade.

Silas and I with our steak, homestyle fries and vegetables. As you can probably tell, Silas was being quite a character this evening.

After supper, we went across the street to Barnes & Noble where the highlight was going up and down the escalators with Silas!

  7. brian’s 30th birthday party

    September 29, 2008 by sholdren

Yesterday we celebrated Brian’s 30th birthday with a party at our place! It was fun because this was the first time we’ve had a big group like this over to our new house.

Here are a few pictures so you can see what the party was like!

Brian, Silas and I enjoying the festivities!

Pasta salad and piggies-in-a-blanket! At the top of the pic is a little bowl of chili. We don’t have a pic of the pot of chili, but it was so yummy! We got the original recipe from my sister, Stephanie, in Arkansas. We ate it with Fritos, shredded cheese, and sour cream.

The pizza-looking thing is actually called “Party Surprise Spread.” It’s used for spreading on crackers or using taco chips to scoop it up with. It’s made of creamcheese, mayo, salsa, shredded cheese and red or green peppers.

Brian’s birthday cake with all 30 candles on it. The cake was made by my Mom and I, and I decorated it.

Contrary to some people’s predictions, the smoke detectors did not go off, nor did the fire department show up after Brian blew out the candles. It did get a little smokey though, and there was a heat wave rising from the cake before Brian blew them out. 🙂

Below is a video of us singing Happy Birthday to Brian:

People watching Brian open his presents. Closest to the camera, wearing a party hat on her head and on her face, we have Zoe, and from left to right we have Brenda, Brian’s Mom, Chrissy, Natie, Sis. Browning, Aunt Norma, Grandma, Brian’s Dad and Grandpa.

I think everyone is laughing at something Brian is saying. From left to right we have Joi, Angel, my Mom, Aunt Mechelle, Uncle Bobby, Kim (on the stairs), Sam, my Dad and Bro. Browning, and Grandma is laughing on the couch.

This is a t-shirt Brian got from Uncle Bobby and Aunt Mechelle!

Silas likes the cards that make noise when you open them.

Brian giving his thank you speech.

Brian and Silas this morning. Silas let my parents sleep in his room, so he slept with us last night. Brian and Silas were so pooped out from the party yesterday that Silas slept an hour and a half longer than normal, and Brian ended up being late for work!

Overall, we had such a fun birthday party, and we are so glad that so many people could make it!
