Brianna enjoys playing along on the piano with me, and also by herself sometimes!

  3. flower pot flair

    September 21, 2010 by sholdren

A couple months ago we bought a two flower pots, one to go on each side of the garage. I kept forgetting to take pics of them, so I never did a blog. Anyway, here they are!

Our flower pots in front of our garage. Also, Brianna in the stroller before we went on a walk!

Close-up of the flower pot. I’m gonna try to have more flowers next year, and more colorful ones!

  4. colossal curlers

    August 31, 2010 by sholdren

I recently tried putting some curlers in Brianna’s hair, just for the fun of it. It went pretty well, I think, except that the curlers are a little large for her amount of hair. I’m considering buying some smaller-size sponge rollers and seeing how that works out. I doubt she’d sleep in them, so I’d have to leave them in for a few hours during the day, and then take them out before heading out somewhere. 🙂

She also likes chewing on the curlers. One time she put the entire sponge part in her mouth.

  5. fun ‘n stuff

    August 24, 2010 by sholdren

Last weekend we went to a small amusement park called Fun ‘N Stuff. It was…fun!…and stuff! Below is a video and a couple pics.

Silas riding a go-kart for the first time! He did great!

  6. fishy face!

    August 7, 2010 by sholdren

“Fishy face” is a skill that my siblings and I have decided to teach to all of our children. Brianna has recently learned this new skill!

In this specific picture, Silas isn’t doing it quite right, because the upper lip needs to be almost touching the nose, but he has done it before!

    Yay for fishy faces!

  7. flips aka somersaults

    July 29, 2010 by sholdren

Silas has been doing lots of somersault lately. He calls them “flips.” Brianna has done a somersault as well, but I haven’t got one on video yet.

Here is a video of Silas and Brianna doing somersaults, as well as flips, flops, and falls.

  8. “To the sky!”

    July 26, 2010 by sholdren

That’s what Silas says when he wants you to push him on the swing. And Brian tries his best to oblige him.

    Extreme swinging!

  9. awesome aeros

    July 17, 2010 by sholdren

Yesterday we took the kids to see an Akron Aeros vs Erie SeaWolves baseball game. The reason we originally planned this was so Silas could see fireworks, because we missed them on July 4th weekend. We were cheering for the Akron Aeros, and they won 8-1.

    Erie Seawolves pitching.

Brian and Silas enjoying the game. Silas is too cool to smile. He peed for the first time in a urinal at this game!

  10. summer biking spontaneity

    July 10, 2010 by sholdren

We decided to bike through a trail in a place called Deep Lock Quarry in Peninsula, Ohio today. We went there, but didn’t end up going to the quarry, but to the paths that joined up to it, which were a lot longer. The signs also said that bikers can only ride on paved pathways, and the quarry path was dirt. So, maybe we’ll go walking there some time!

I need to tighten my helmet…it’s kind of lopsided…

The bike ride was really fun, and had beautiful scenery. The only problem is that at the end we had to bike up a pretty steep hill, and we did it without stopping, so we were both really tired at the end! Also, today, for the very first time in his life, Silas peed in the woods! He was quite proud of himself!

Here’s a video of us before, during and after our exhausting bike ride today! Some of the clips are lower quality, because when I would video while riding, I would accidentally switch into compact mode, and I didn’t always realize it. Anyway, here it is!

P.S. Not sure why Silas had his DS with him, but that was silly.
