  1. independence day

    July 5, 2010 by sholdren

For July 4th this year, we had a little cookout at our house, after which we relaxed outside while Silas played in the little pool, and then we all played a game of Scattergories.

Unfortunately I forgot to take many pictures!

The cupcakes I made, in honor of Canada Day and Independence Day. I even made one in honor of Obama! Am I hip or what?

    The inside of the cupcakes.

Brianna after eating a cupcake with blue frosting!

Setting up the little pool for the kids.

We had a fun July 4th, and today, July 5th, will also be fun, because Brian is off! We have a few things we plan on doing with the kids. Should be a blast!

  2. mother’s day

    May 10, 2010 by sholdren

Yesterday was Mother’s Day, and I had a really nice day! I got a sweet homemade card from Silas, which he colored in Sunday School. Then we ate out, dropped by a playground for a few minutes, and went to Sam & Kim’s house.

I got a really cool white leather purse from the kids, and from Brian I got a nice decoration to put on the main bathroom counter top. It’s a big clear glass vase from Pier 1 Imports, and some cool black rocks to go in it, and then a few floral-type things to stick in it. It’ll go awesome with the colors I chose, which are black, white, a purpley color, and gray (for the walls, which we still have to paint). I’ll send a pic of this when I get it set up.

Hope you all had a very fun Mother’s Day!

  3. easter

    April 5, 2010 by sholdren

This Easter we went to church, where Bro. Jerry Browning preached. Then we ate out at Ruby Tuesday with family. Here are a few pictures of the day:

Chrissy (second cousin), Silas and Brianna after church.

Silas, me and Brianna. Brianna looks a little squished. hehe

Silas and Chrissy are good friends. I thought it was cute how Chrissy is running towards Silas in this pic.

Easter morning, Bree and Silas in our bed, opening their Easter baskets from Opa & Omsie. I think those baskets are really cool.

  4. video-editing fun!

    January 19, 2010 by sholdren

I used my new video-editing software to put together a little video from our Christmas trip to Edmonton. I took so much video while there, so I decided to split it up into separate categories. This first video features some of the food we made and ate at Mom and Dad’s house.

    Hope you enjoy it!

  5. holiday rush

    December 11, 2009 by sholdren

Not much to report, just busy getting everything ready for Christmas! I’d say we have about 6 or 7 presents left to buy. Then I wanna make some yummy shortbread cookies!

But for now, I give you Brianna reorganizing my island cabinets:

    Happy Holidays!

  6. Thanksgiving Birthday Party

    November 27, 2009 by sholdren

Today is Brianna’s 1st birthday! Happy Birthday, Brianna!!!

Yesterday, we had Thanksgiving at our house, and also had a little party for Brianna. We had over Brian’s parents and Sam & Kim & the boys. I’ll post a bunch of pics on Facebook later, but here are a few for now:

Brianna with her first birthday cake! It was confetti cake with cream cheese frosting.

All 11 of us gathered around the Thanksgiving table. We had dinner buffet-style because there was hardly any room for food on the table.

At the end of dinner, Silas entertained us with some lovely playing and singing.

    My homemade caramel apples!

Brianna opening her presents. She got so many nice things! Thank you, everyone!

The birthday girl fell asleep in my lap. She even dropped her little baby biscuit she was eating. Here she’s wearing her new Robeez shoes from my Mom. I think they’re adorable.

Silas looking at the Christmas tree after everyone left. He’s really into Christmas and snow right now.

Silas and Brianna getting ready for bed! Nighty-night!

  7. halloween hijinks

Today was a pretty fun day. In the morning we basically just hung around the house and relaxed. Then for lunch we went to T.G.I. Friday’s and used Brian’s gift card he got from his parents for his birthday.

Silas and Brian at T.G.I. Friday’s.

Brianna and I. Brianna ate mashed potatoes.

Brianna and I dressed as Saudi girls. We were originally gonna be babushkas, but my scarf looked more Arabian, so we decided to go with that. We didn’t actually go anywhere dressed like this, I just thought it’d be a cute pic.

We ate at Chipotle in the evening. Chipotle had a deal going where if you came in dressed like a burrito, you’d get a free burrito! Well, Brian and I didn’t really want to dress up, so we dressed the kids up! We got our whole meal free, including the chips and drink!

For the 4th of July this year we went to the Orrville Carnival. It was a lot of fun! There were rides, games and food. We had french waffles, a funnel cake and sno cones!

Brian, Silas and I on the ferris wheel.
