The inflatable pool we bought last year got a leak in it. We tried to fix it with duct tape, but it still wouldn’t stay inflated. So, this year we got another one. It came with a little kit to fix leaks, so that’s nice in case it gets one this year too.
We tried the pool out a few days ago. Silas had a really fun time, and Brianna even splashed her feet around in it a little.
Silas loving his new pool.
Soaking in some sun rays. Brianna doesn’t have a swim suit yet, so I just put on the closest thing she had to a swim suit. I need to get her one though, because she doesn’t like how regular material feels on her when it gets wet.
Oh, I almost forgot – here’s a short little video of Silas swimming in the pool:
For Father’s Day, we went to church and had a great service. Then we ate with Brian’s parents and a couple friends at Red Robin, where Brian and his Dad opened their Father’s Day presents. After that, Brian, Silas, Brianna and I stopped by Cold Stone Creamery.
Silas, me and Brian at Red Robin. Silas wasn’t looking at the camera because he was in a bad mood because he got hurt at church (which I will talk more about later in this post.)

We shared a “Chocolate Devotion”, in which we used dark chocolate ice cream instead of the regular chocolate ice cream they normally put in it. It was good, but the “All Lovin’ No Oven” is still way better. 🙂

Okay, now’s the part about Silas getting hurt. Once again, I didn’t actually see it happen, but from what I hear, when he was running around in front of the church, he accidentally got knocked over and hit his nose/mouth on the concrete. When Bro. Bill carried him in the church to us, his nose and mouth were bleeding bad. The bleeding was WAY worse than with his cut on the bridge of his nose. His lip got all puffy, and his nose and mouth is scraped. I almost cried a couple times. But he’s doing good now. I just feel bad that this happened so close to his other injury. At least his teeth are okay though.
Let’s see…slightly blackened eyes and stitches from previous injury, scraped nose, bloody nose, scraped lip and puffy lip. I think I need to keep him in a giant hamster ball for a month. 😉
Happy Mother’s Day, everyone! I hope you all had a lovely day. We did!
Us after church today. We couldn’t get both kids to look at the camera.
In Sunday school today, Silas made a lovely little frame with a drawing of him in it that he colored. He gave it to me in a cute little gift bag that he decorated, which also contained some Hershey kisses. It was so funny, cuz I opened my present from him during the song service, when he brought it to me at my pew, and when I did, he reached in the gift bag, grabbed one of the Hershey kisses, unwrapped it, and ate it.
The Mother’s Day gift Silas gave me. It’s magnetic, so I put it on my fridge. I will cherish it forever.
What has Silas been up to lately? Here are a few pics of Silas’ recent adventures!
Silas at one of his favorite restaurants, Chick-fil-A, with Opa and Omsie!
The waffles fries are awesome there.
A couple days ago, a few minutes after he had a bath, I found Silas back in the bathtub, fully clothed! His diaper was so full of water, it was like a bomb about to explode. He was also ripping apart a sponge roller with his teeth.

Silas is Mommy’s big helper!
My Mom helped us make these cookies. They are a family tradition with most of my relatives. Another name for them is Honey Cookies, because one of the ingredients is honey.
Here is the finished product. The mushroom, boot and rectangle with jagged edges are all traditional shapes we use each year, but we do a ton of other shapes as well.
